SciLaxy is driven by a singular conviction: curiosity should never be limited by resources, and research should never be held hostage by scale.

From Doing to Thinking

We started by writing code line by line, trying to solve a deceptively simple problem: how to make large models truly act — calling search engines, generating code, accessing databases, manipulating files, even plugging into external APIs. Computation itself became the agent's hands.

But after taking that first solid step toward "doing", we found ourselves facing a new question: is this enough? Scientists don't need an obedient assembly-line worker. They need a thinking partner — one that understands fuzzy intentions and proactively proposes solutions.

From "can do" to "can think."

So we rebuilt the product logic. We introduced graph-based orchestration and a DSL that lets researchers semi-naturally design their own reasoning paths. We built a multi-agent collaboration architecture so that a single deep research session can work the way human research does — decompose, hypothesize, verify, synthesize. (This is also where the name Zen comes from — originally the only name that lived in our memory for what SciLaxy was meant to be.)

Agent as Asset

This is why we proposed the idea: Agent as Asset.

Every carefully trained agent is a crystallization of a researcher's tacit knowledge — a concrete, inheritable form of methodology that can be reused and evolved. It is not disposable tooling. It is intellectual capital.

When a researcher spends hours refining an agent's system prompt, attaching the right skills, and tuning its tool set, they are encoding domain expertise into a living, executable artifact. That artifact can be shared with collaborators, published to the marketplace, or forked and adapted by the next generation.

Digital Twin of Scientific Thinking

Imagine a future where your agent is no longer just a tool, but a digital twin of your scientific thinking — it understands your logic, remembers your academic taste, continues exploring your hypotheses while you rest, and greets you with fresh insights and a rough draft when you return.

This is the vision we are building toward. Through memory, agents accumulate knowledge about you across conversations. Through skills, they learn your methodology. Through knowledge bases, they internalize your data. Over time, the agent becomes an extension of your intellectual self.

Democratization of Science

This is the belief we want to convey through SciLaxy: one person can own an entire self-driven laboratory. A small team can tackle problems once reserved for large institutions.
